Calvin’s Avengers is a The many adventures of Calvin and Hobbes Episode from Season 3. In this episode, The cast of the original avengers comes to Calvin’s school fair, but events start happening that are shockingly similar to a comic book.

Plot[]

The story begins with a boring day at Calvin‘s School. The class is taking a spelling test when Mr. Spittle announces that Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johansson (The cast of the first Avengers movie) will be at the school fair, causing Calvin, a huge Marvel fan, to run screaming down to Spittle’s office. He expresses his want to get his copy of the first Avengers comic signed by them all, but Spittle threatens that if he asks for one autograph, he’s suspended. However, when Calvin leaves, it is revealed that Spittle is sabotaging his chances so that he can be the first to get the comic signed by everyone and sell it online.

At the fair, Calvin has a hard time keeping his inner geek from asking any of them, but gets help from Hobbes. They start up a conversation with the actors when Spittle takes Robert to sign his comic. The characters don’t see him leave and are surprised when they notice he’s gone. Calvin then points out that the disappearance reminds him of a story in the eighth comic in which Kang the Conqueror kidnaps the Avengers one by one. Robert comes back and everyone is so busy theorizing that they don’t see Spittle bring Evans into his office. They then see he’s gone and realize that Calvin may be right.

Evans returns and the cycle repeats with Hemsworth and Scarlett. When Scarlett gets back, everyone dresses up as their hero counterparts while Calvin explains their powers. When Jeremy disseapears, they all cram into a school bathroom, because in the comic, they could defeat Kang from a defensible location (Jeremy returns at this point). While looking for Mark to get his autograph, Spittle stumbles across the bathroom the heroes are hiding in and gets attacked by every Avenger.

Jeremy points out that the villain is actually Spittle. Calvin thinks that the autographed comic book was a gift for him from Spittle, takes it from him, and gets Mark to sign it, getting Spittle his comeuppance. As all the heroes say it was the most fun they had in years, Evans replies that he knew it was not the villain all along.
